Call (770) 869-2860Why Dunwoody Families Call Us First
Stuart & Sons Moving is a family-owned company, and that shows up in how we treat your home. We pad-wrap furniture, pack the truck so nothing shifts on the drive, and walk each room before we leave so nothing gets missed. Dunwoody is a mix we know well: corporate folks moving into Perimeter high-rises, families settling into the established single-family neighborhoods off Mount Vernon and Tilly Mill, and downsizers heading into condos near Georgetown.
That range matters because every one of those moves is different. A two-story house on a wooded lot is a stair-and-driveway job; a high-rise condo is a freight-elevator-and-loading-dock job. We plan for the address you actually have, not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
Want a real estimate with no surprises? Call (770) 869-2860 for a free quote and we’ll talk through your specific place before we ever load a box.
Close to Dunwoody From Our Alpharetta Base
Our home base is at 11791 Haynes Bridge Ave in Alpharetta, a straight run down GA-400 to I-285 and into Dunwoody. That short hop is part of why we can offer same-day moves here so often: when a crew opens up, getting to the Perimeter or out toward Dunwoody Village isn’t a half-day detour.
We’re open seven days a week, so whether you’ve got a Saturday closing, a mid-week apartment turnover, or a Sunday that’s the only day everyone’s free, we can usually make it work. Tight timelines are normal in this corridor, and we’d rather flex around your schedule than make you flex around ours.
If you need movers in Dunwoody on short notice, call us and ask what we have open today.
Built for Dunwoody’s Roads, Condos and HOAs
Moving near the Perimeter and I-285 comes with its own quirks, and we plan for them up front. Many of Dunwoody’s older neighborhoods have long, sloped driveways and tree cover, so we’ll scout truck parking and shuttle with dollies when a 26-footer can’t get close to the door.
The single-family homes around here lean two-story, which means stairs and tight turns at the landing for sofas and king mattresses. Our crews break down and re-assemble bed frames, wardrobes and dining tables rather than forcing them around a corner.
Condo and high-rise moves at the Perimeter usually mean a certificate of insurance for the building and a reserved freight elevator or dock window. Many HOAs require a COI on file before move day. Tell us the building when you book and we’ll get the paperwork sorted so you’re not stuck waiting in the lobby.
Full Moving Services Across Dunwoody
We’re not just a load-and-go crew. Stuart & Sons handles local moves across North Fulton and DeKalb, plus long-distance hauls when a Dunwoody job means leaving Georgia entirely. We do full-service and partial packing, supply boxes and materials, and offer storage for the gap between closings.
On the residential side that covers houses, condos and apartments, including labor-only help when you’ve rented the truck and just need strong, careful hands to load or unload. For Dunwoody’s many offices and businesses near the Perimeter, we run commercial and office moves planned around your downtime so the workday isn’t lost.
We also handle the specialty pieces that scare other movers, including upright and baby grand pianos. Whatever the job, call (770) 869-2860 and we’ll match a crew and a plan to it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer same-day moves in Dunwoody?
Often, yes. Because our Alpharetta base is a quick run down GA-400 to I-285, getting a crew into Dunwoody is fast, and we’re open seven days a week. Same-day availability depends on what’s already booked, so the best move is to call (770) 869-2860 early and ask what we have open. We’ll give you a straight answer rather than overpromising.
Can you handle high-rise and condo moves at the Perimeter?
Absolutely. Many Perimeter buildings require a reserved freight elevator, a loading-dock window, and a certificate of insurance on file before move day. Tell us the building when you book and we’ll handle the COI and elevator scheduling so the crew isn’t stuck waiting. We come equipped with dollies and pads sized for tight elevator and hallway moves.
How do you deal with long driveways and stairs in older neighborhoods?
We scout it ahead of time. In Dunwoody’s established neighborhoods, a full-size truck can’t always reach the door, so we shuttle with dollies and protect the path. For two-story homes we break down bed frames, wardrobes and large tables, then re-assemble them in the new place rather than forcing oversized pieces around tight landings and corners.
What does a free quote include?
It’s a no-obligation estimate based on your actual home and inventory, not a generic guess. We talk through your address, access, stairs, building rules and the items that need special care, then explain how we’d plan the day. There’s no charge to ask. Call (770) 869-2860 and we’ll walk through it with you before you commit to anything.
Do you move pianos and other heavy specialty items?
Yes. We move upright and baby grand pianos along with safes, gym equipment and other heavy, awkward pieces that many crews turn down. These take the right padding, straps and technique, especially on Dunwoody’s stairs and through condo elevators. Let us know what you have when you book so we bring the proper equipment and the right number of hands.
Do you handle long-distance moves out of Dunwoody?
We do. Beyond local moves around North Fulton and DeKalb, we handle long-distance jobs when a Dunwoody move takes you out of state. We pack and protect for the longer haul, load the truck so nothing shifts, and coordinate delivery timing with you. Call (770) 869-2860 to talk through your destination and timeline and get a free quote.
